Papers, c. 1880-1986, mostly dated before 1930, comprising records relating to: (a) the Chaffey Brothers, of whom Salmon was a partner and later liquidator, including financial statements, directors' reports and liquidators' report; also including some material relating to land owned by Daniel A. White, Salmon's accountant. (b) Numeralla Estate at Hedley, South Gippsland, which Salmon farmed in partnership with the Rossiter Brothers, including four photographic negatives of scenes at Numeralla. (c) The subdivision and sale of Salmon's Roseneath Estate, North Essendon, c. 1924; and (d) Also containing personal and miscellaneous material of W.F. Salmon's, comprising transcriptions of Salmon's Diary entries from rainfall records, 1914-1923 (including W.F. Salmon's obituary from the Age, 14 September 1923) and notes by Salmon on the mouse plague of 1917; testimonials and other business papers connected with his application in 1886 for the position of Secretary of the Australasian Mutual Live Stock Insurance Society Ltd; and press cuttings and a photograph relating to the cultivation of sorghum on W.F. and P.W. Salmon's property at Nugara in the Mallee.
